Stress and anxiety suck and are unfortunately common experiences for most people.

The majority of adults will deal with anxiety at some point in their life and if you don’t personally deal with anxiety you will at least know someone who does.

Too much daily stress will eventually take a toll on your body.

The constant low-level stress that most of us encounter daily, combined with environmental pollution and diets high in refined carbohydrates, can overstimulate and overtax the adrenal glands.

If our adrenal glands are overtaxed it can in turn damage our immune, cardiovascular, neurological, and endocrine systems.

Basically this is bad and too much stress puts your health at risk.

Here are ways to relieve stress and anxiety:

Exercise

Exercise is one of the most important things you can do to combat stress.

Exercise is physical stress but by putting physical stress on your body you relieve mental stress.

Im sure you have heard the phrase consistency is key and if you haven’t write it down and save it somewhere because no truer words have ever been spoken. “Consistency is key.” To benefit from exercise you need to exercise regularly.

Start an exercise routine and if you don’t know where or how to start, schedule a free consultation with certified professionals.

Now how exactly does exercise help with stress? Well…

Stress Hormones:
With regular exercise you will naturally lower your body’s stress hormones, one of the hormones being lowered is cortisol.

Exercise also releases endorphins, which are chemicals that improve your mood and act as natural painkillers.

Less stress, better mood and pain free… sounds pretty great if you ask me.

Sleep:
Exercise will also improve your sleep quality.

  • Stress and anxiety are awful for your sleep

  • The less you sleep the more stress and anxiety you have

  • The more stress and anxiety you have the harder it is to sleep

It’s a dreadful cycle, use exercise to break that cycle.

Consider Supplements

Thorne’s Stress Management Bundle provides comprehensive benefits by optimizing the response of the adrenal glands to stress, by supporting immune function, and by promoting a calm state of mind and restful sleep.

Stress B-Complex contains an optimal balance of essential B vitamins, with extra vitamin B5 to support healthy adrenal and immune function.

PharmaGABA-250 GABA supports restful sleep, acts as a "brake" on stress, and promotes a focused but calm state of mind.

Phytisone® is a unique, non-glandular formula of botanicals and nutrients that help optimize the adrenal gland's response to stress and also help reduce fatigue.

Some supplements can interact with medications or have side effects, so you may want to consult with a doctor if you have a medical condition.

Essential Oils

Use essential oils or burning a scented candle. Using scents to treat your mood is called aromatherapy.

Going to sleep with an essential oil diffuser is a simple as fuck way to reduce your stress and anxiety.

Reduce Your Caffeine Intake

This one is rough to type out because we love our coffee at CSH.

The facts are that caffeine is a stimulant and high doses increase anxiety.

You can find caffeine in coffee, tea, chocolate and energy drinks.

People have different thresholds for how much caffeine they can tolerate. So drink caffeine often that way your tolerance is really high. Hahah no no no, that is awful advise. Do not attempt to raise your caffeine tolerance.

Use caffeine in moderation. If you notice that caffeine makes you jittery or anxious, cut back.

Coffee can be healthy in moderation, in general, five or fewer cups per day is considered a moderate amount.

And that’s 5 cups as in measuring cups, not 5 venti coffees from Starbucks.

Mindfulness & Meditation

Meditation can be sitting in silence with your thoughts but it doesn’t have to be.

Just being mindful is a form of meditation in itself.

You can be mindful through yoga practice, breathing, journaling and so many other ways.

Wake up an extra half hour or even better an extra hour early every morning and just do something mindful for yourself.

Practice your breathing. Think about your posture. Record your thoughts in a journal.

Writing down what you’re stressed about is one approach, another is jotting down what you’re grateful for.

This mindful morning will relieve stress and anxiety. Don’t just take my word, actually fucking try it.

Be Social, Experience Life

Social support from friends and family will help you get through stress.

Isolation just compounds the effects of stress and anxiety.

Hang out with your friends and family, pick up the phone and make a call and grab coffee or lunch in a public environment.

You will get sense of fucking belonging and self worth.

Laughing Kills Anxiety

It’s hard to feel anxious when you’re laughing your ass off.

Laughing relieves your stress response, relieves tense muscles and improves both your immune system and mood.

Watch a funny TV show, talk to a funny friend and find humor in everyday life.

Learn To Say No

Not all stressors are within your control, but some are.

Take control over the parts of your life that you can change and are causing you stress.

One way to do this may be to say “no” or “fuck off” more often. Lol don’t say “fuck off” no one should say that to anyone.

Too many people take on more than they can handle, I know I do.

Juggling responsibilities will leave you feeling overwhelmed.

Be selective about what you take on and saying no to things. Your friends and family would rather have you say no than to come up short handed, stressed or worse just plain out not do the task.

Say no at least once a day. Try not to say fuck off but maybe use that.

Learn To Avoid Procrastination

Another easy as fuck way to take control of your stress is to stay on top of your priorities and stop procrastinating.

Procrastination can lead you to act reactively, leaving you scrambling to catch up.

This causes stress.

Stress negatively affects your health and sleep quality.

Get in the habit of making a to-do list organized by priority. Give yourself realistic deadlines and work your way down the list.

If it’s something you can do right now and get it off your list and mind, then do it.

And leave yourself uninterrupted time! No one like being so busy they have to switch from one task to the next.

Listen To Music

Jam out or listen to something calm. What ever your style Listening to music can have a very relaxing effect on the body.

The Bottom Line

Although stress and anxiety may arise in your workplace and personal life, there are many simple as fuck ways to reduce the pressure you feel.

From all the above suggestions to something as simple as spending time with your pet. The basic concept is do something for yourself.

All to often we get stuck in a very go-go-go mentality. Break up the fast paced life of our society with intent actions and thoughts.

Anything that can break your normal thoughts of work, money and responsibilities will be positive as fuck for your health.
